Monoblock op textiel
De monobloc stoel inspireert mij op meerdere manieren. Iedereen heeft ooit wel eens op de stoel gezeten. Je ziet ze dan ook over de hele wereld. Het bijzondere is dat de stoel uit 1 mal komt waardoor hij makkelijk en snel te produceren is. Ook is de stoel licht, stapelbaar en kan zowel binnen als buiten worden gebruikt.
Ik vind de stoel een perfect voorbeeld van tijdloos. Als je er een paar op het strand zou zetten en er een foto maakt zou je niet kunnen zien of de foto gisteren is gemaakt of in de jaren 70 (toen de stoel is ontworpen).
Voor mijn ontwerp ben ik aan de gang gegaan in photoshop. Ik ben met verschillende opties en filters gaan spelen net zo lang tot ik een interessant beeld had gecreëerd. Daarna heb ik de techniek zeefdruk gekozen om er een print van te maken. Ik koos voor zeefdruk omdat je in een CMYK printer geen witte inkt hebt. Bij zeefdruk heb je de vrijheid om precies de kleur te mengen die je wilt hebben.
ENG: The monobloc chair inspires me in several ways. Everyone has sat on the chair at some point. You see them all over the world. The special thing is that the chair comes from 1 mold, which makes it easy and quick to produce. The chair is also light, stackable and can be used both indoors and outdoors.
I think the chair is a perfect example of timelessness. If you were to put a few of them on the beach and take a picture, you wouldn't be able to tell whether the photo was taken yesterday or in the 70s (when the chair was designed).
For my design, I got started in Photoshop. I played with different options and filters until I had created an interesting image. Then I chose the screen printing technique to make a print of it. I chose screen printing because you don't have white ink in a CMYK printer. With screen printing, you have the freedom to mix exactly the color you want.
